15 Dives in the National Park
Five full days of diving in one of the last pristine corners of Central America. Untouched reefs, bull, tiger, and whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, and the genuine feeling of discovering a place almost no one has ever seen. All within Coiba National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Authentic Panama
A free day to explore nearby towns, rivers, mangroves, and the native flora and fauna of Santa Catalina. Enjoy local Panamanian cuisine and experience the culture of one of Central America's most authentic corners.
They call it the Galapagos of Panama.

Unique wildlife
We arrive at the exact season when humpback whales give birth to their calves in the shallow, protected waters of the Panamanian Pacific. There's a real possibility of encounters with passing orcas, hammerhead, bull, and tiger sharks in the Contreras Archipelago, and large gatherings of manta rays and stingrays.

El Parque Nacional Coiba, en la costa pacífica de Panamá, protege la isla de Coiba, el archipiélago de las Contreras y una extensa superficie marina.
Su aislamiento durante décadas contribuyó a conservar unos ecosistemas marinos extraordinariamente ricos.
Hoy forma parte del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO y es conocido por la abundancia de grandes especies pelágicas.
Bucear aquí significa entrar en un entorno remoto donde el encuentro con la fauna es imprevisible y forma parte de la experiencia.
Ballenas jorobadas en Coiba:
La temporada de cría
Entre julio y noviembre, las ballenas jorobadas llegan a las aguas tropicales del Pacífico de Panamá durante su migración anual.
En esta zona encuentran aguas cálidas y protegidas donde se reproducen y permanecen con sus crías.
Nuestro viaje se realiza del 15 al 23 de agosto de 2027, en plena temporada de presencia de ballenas jorobadas.
Esto convierte agosto en una fecha especialmente atractiva para combinar buceo en Coiba y observación de ballenas.
Mejor época para bucear en Coiba
Coiba se puede bucear durante todo el año, pero cada época ofrece encuentros y condiciones diferentes.
La temporada seca se extiende aproximadamente de mediados de diciembre a mediados de mayo, mientras que de junio a noviembre llega la temporada de lluvias.
Para Wild Sanctuary hemos elegido agosto de 2027 por una razón muy concreta: coincide con la temporada de presencia y cría de ballenas jorobadas en las aguas del Pacífico panameño.
También es una época interesante para determinados encuentros con grandes pelágicos.
No elegimos la fecha únicamente por el clima, sino por lo que queremos encontrar bajo el agua.
Buceo con tiburones en Coiba
Uno de los grandes atractivos del buceo en Coiba es la posibilidad de encontrar diferentes especies de tiburones en una misma expedición.
Dependiendo de la zona y las condiciones podemos encontrarnos con tiburones toro, tiburones martillo, tiburones tigre y tiburones ballena, además de otras especies de tiburones de arrecife.
En el archipiélago de Contreras, por ejemplo, los tiburones martillo son especialmente interesantes durante determinadas épocas del año.
Santa Catalina:
Puerta de entrada a Coiba
Santa Catalina es uno de los principales puntos de acceso al Parque Nacional Coiba y será nuestra base para explorar el archipiélago.
Además del buceo, tendremos tiempo para conocer sus paisajes, manglares, ríos, gastronomía y entorno natural, descubriendo una parte de Panamá que queda fuera de las rutas turísticas más habituales.
Fotografía submarina en Coiba
Coiba es especialmente interesante para la fotografía submarina de grandes pelágicos.
Tiburones, mantas, bancos de peces y arrecifes ofrecen oportunidades para trabajar gran angular, mientras que las inmersiones en arrecife permiten descubrir también especies de menor tamaño.
Durante Wild Sanctuary realizaremos un workshop de fotografía submarina con Borja García, con sesiones prácticas durante los días de buceo, revisión de imágenes y edición en tierra.
Además, cada participante tendrá acceso a sesiones de fotografía profesional y podrá participar en el concurso de fotografía del viaje
