An experience in the Sea of Cortez
Baja California Sur is one of Mexico's most special diving destinations.
Situated between the desert and the ocean, this region offers extraordinary marine biodiversity and a variety of underwater experiences.
On this trip, we will explore the waters of La Paz and the Sea of Cortez, combining dives with sea lions and reef exploration with encounters with large pelagic species and ocean safaris in Mag Bay.
The experience is designed for those wishing to discover Baja California from the water, traveling in a small group accompanied by the Born to the Ocean team.
In addition to diving, the trip incorporates underwater photography, nature, and local culture, allowing you to experience the destination beyond just its dive sites.

One of the highlights of this expedition is the "Sardine Run" experience in Mag Bay, where massive schools of sardines attract pelagic predators.
During the safaris, we will look for encounters with marlin, dolphins, manta rays, and other large marine animals.
Diving at
Isla Espíritu Santo
A volcanic landscape that continues underwater—walls, reefs, and extraordinary marine life—makes Isla Espíritu Santo one of the must-do dives in Baja California Sur.
Our trip takes place in late October and early November—a particularly interesting time to explore the Sea of Cortez and the waters of Baja California Sur.
During this period, we seek encounters with sea lions, large pelagic species, sharks, manta rays, dolphins, and other wildlife, while also experiencing the "Sardine Run" at Mag Bay—all subject, of course, to sea conditions and the whims of nature.
We chose these dates specifically to combine various diving and underwater photography experiences during a time of year that is especially appealing for the region's marine life.
Diving in La Paz
Baja California Sur
La Paz is a key location on our expedition.
Its waters offer the chance to discover diverse ecosystems and encounter large marine species.
From the city, we will travel to various dive sites—including areas around Isla Espíritu Santo—where we can find sea lions, turtles, large schools of fish, and other wildlife of the Sea of Cortez.
Underwater photography in Baja California Sur
Baja offers exceptional opportunities for underwater photography, ranging from reefs teeming with life, shipwrecks, sea lions, and hammerhead sharks to the incredible experience of photographing the "Sardine Run"—one of the greatest marine hunting spectacles.
During the trip, we will hold a wide-angle photography workshop with professional underwater photographer Borja García, featuring applied techniques, feedback, and hands-on learning directly in the water.
In addition, each participant will have an underwater photography session and the opportunity to enter our photography and video contest.
