Currents are a fundamental part of what makes diving in Komodo so special.

The movement of water masses concentrates nutrients around the reefs, creating exceptional conditions for marine life.

However, they also make Komodo a destination that requires preparation and experience.

Current intensity and direction can vary depending on the dive site, the tide, and the conditions on the day.

That is why every dive begins with a specific briefing and is adapted to the actual water conditions. It is not about fighting the current, but rather understanding it and diving with it.

Crystal Rock is one of Komodo's most iconic dive sites, boasting a spectacular concentration of marine life around its volcanic pinnacle. Conditions can vary depending on the current, resulting in vastly different dive experiences.

Castle Rock is known for its currents and the chance to encounter large schools of fish and reef sharks—a particularly exciting spot for those seeking action and pelagic life.

​

Batu Bolong stands out for its coral-covered walls and extraordinary density of marine life, making it a particularly appealing setting for wide-angle photography.

We travel in small groups to offer more personal attention and tailor the pace of the trip to the expedition members.

Andrea and Borja accompany the group throughout the entire experience—from dives to land-based activities—alongside local guides specializing in each activity.

Manta rays are one of the main highlights of diving in Komodo.

​

The currents and nutrient-rich waters in certain areas create ideal conditions for encountering these magnificent creatures.

During the "Wild Current" trip, we will visit sites where there is a chance to spot them, always respecting the animals' natural behavior and maintaining a safe distance.

​

We do not guarantee wildlife encounters; while we select locations and dates to maximize our chances, we ultimately let the ocean decide what it reveals to us.

Komodo offers diverse diving experiences depending on the area and the time of year.

​

The northern and southern routes feature different conditions and temperatures, making the choice of dates particularly important.

​

Our "Wild Current" trip takes place from May 16 to 25, 2027—a period we selected to combine the conditions of northern Komodo with the marine life opportunities found in the south.

​

May also marks an interesting transition between the seasons in both areas, allowing us to design a trip that combines currents, large pelagics, manta rays, and macro photography.

Komodo is an exceptional destination for both wide-angle and macro photography.

​

Manta rays, sharks, and large schools of fish offer opportunities to work on scale, movement, and composition, while the reefs and macro sites allow you to seek out nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, and other cryptic species.

​

During the expedition, you will benefit from two specialized workshops, professional photography sessions, and feedback to help you improve your images throughout the trip.
